Christ loves the church. The local churches love Christ. Watchman Nee and Witness Lee were proponents of the local church. Watchman Nee and Witness Lee were co-workers for 20 years. Witness Lee saw the local churches as the procedure for building up the Body of Christ. A book entitled The History of the Church and the Local Churches by Witness Lee is recommended for further reading on this topic. The Bible reveals two aspects of the church: the universal church and the local church. The universal church includes all regenerated believers throughout time and space. The local church includes all the believers living in a particular locality in space and in time.
